The Copehagen Chamber Choir CAMERATA opens the Easter Week with a Nordic Passion drama.
The first part of the concert features music by Sven-David Sandström and Knut Nystedt set to liturgical texts recounting the last days of Christ. The second half of the programme welcomes spring with a selection of the most beautiful suites from the Nordic a cappella repertoire by composers like Wilhelm Stenhammer, Rued Langgaard and Jørgen Jersil, as well as a new suite composed specifically for CAMERATA by the acclaimed swedish composer Gunnar Eriksson.
The concert is part of a tour of England, that also features concerts in Oxford and London, where the choir won the London international A Cappella Choral Competition 2017, with a performance described by the judges as “completely masterful, technically measured and yet expressive to the core”.
The Concert starts at 7:45 pm., duration 2h incl. intermission. Location: St Francis De Sales, 16 Wellington Rd, Teddington, Hampton.
The concert is free for members of Richmond Concert Society. Guests tickets £15 (£5 for students). Admittance only in the company of a member of the society. For more information: richmondconcerts.co.uk.
