CAMERATA supports The Copenhagen Music House

The Chamber Choir CAMERATA supports the initiative to make the Copenhagen Music House. We have been a part of Copenhagen’s music life for over 50 years, where we have always worked for a strong synergy between amateur life and the professional environment. We greatly experience how much our city lacks a classical venue dedicated to acoustic music and the good community of music.

A music house in Copenhagen’s beautiful old city museum will be invaluable to the acoustic music environment. Access to extra premises will be a great practical help for everyone in the environment – including visiting ensembles from the rest of the country. A joint house will foster new meetings and creative projects. And finally, the three rock-taking and acoustically impressive concert halls will inspire new exciting concert experiences.

and peace on earth …

December is a lovely but also stressful month, so we all need to make time for some quiet contemplation and beauty. That’s why CAMERATA’s popular performance of Handel’s Messiah is an indispensable part of Christmas for both the cast and the Copenhagen concert audience on the last days before Christmas.

This is the second year Swedish conductor Sofia Söderberg will be conducting Handel’s wonderful and dramatic story about Jesus’ birth, life and death. The soloists are soprano Susanna Stern, alto Anna Einarsson, tenor Rasmus Gravers Nielsen and bass Jakob Högström.

It will be an atmospheric experience, and a sweet respite before Christmas.

Concerts thursday 19th, Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd December at 7.30 pm in Holmen Church.
