The countdown to Christmas has begun. Which means, obviously, that Händel’s Messiah with CAMERATA is just around the corner. Audiences can look forward to three wonderful concerts offering novelty and tradition in equal measure.
This year, The Messiah will be a very special experience: It will be our first with the choir’s new conductor Sofia Söderberg. Sofia joined CAMERATA as conductor in April, but has already led us through many touching musical experiences. Not least, our concert A Fragile Peace, which can be heard on danish public broadcasting radio P2 (only available in scandinavian countries). We cannot wait to see how she will interpret Händel’s megahit.
Audiences can also look forward to being reunited with four fantastic soloists, who have embellished previous CAMERATA orchestra concerts: Counter tenor Daniel Carlsson, a highly sought-after interpreter of early music, tenor Martin Vanberg, who is an internationally renowned opera and concert soloist, barytone Daniel Hällström, who once again will adorn CAMERATA’s Messiah with his strong dramatic nerve, and lastly, the talented young soprano Cassandra Lemoine. At the Messiah last year, she stepped in, to great acclaim, when the soprano fell ill. This year we are excited welcome her back for the entire run.
